P3O - Portfolio, Programme and Project Office course
P3O is a sort of a super version of the old ideas about a project management office. While the earlier thinking was to provide support to project, of a largely administrative nature, the modern need is to have a unit that can do a lot more. Projects are increasingly complex, with a wider range of stakeholders. There is also a need to support the needs of senior corporate management as well largely with information to help them make better decisions.
While there is no one setup that can be best for all organizations, there are a set of lessons leared from the past, that can help you to know what the options are, what the responsibilities are, and other aspects that can help you avoid costly mistakes.
P3O is a certification course. Though you may just want to attend the course with a non exam option as well as an exam option.
